Open Soure Hardware is proving to be a topic of interest at Design West, which takes place this week in San Jose.

There’s a few interesting pieces emerging. This one in EE Times is particularly good… but the one that’s really caught my attention is a debate that’s just started in EDN.

OSH is a growing trend, particularly among younger engineers. It seems that you’re either fully on-board with OSH, proudly cheering on positives like efficiency in prototyping and feedback from a strong design community (as SparkFun’s Chris Taylor discusses here), or rail against it, stating negatives like licensing issues and sometimes less than professional craftsmanship in design.

So this week, we’re asking: Are you on board with OSH? Why or why not?

I’d encourage everyone to head over that way and add your thoughts.
